About the possibilities of what can be done with the human voice in a recording studio. What you hear in these remixes is twice treated: first, by matt stevenson at the eris temple in philly in '06; secondly, by zenboy1955 from the cc mixter crew in cali in 2021. The range of sounds and effects achieved is, i feel, incredible, esp. In the second, vocal montage remix. Enjoy.

The Governor's Own March performed by a brass quartet of the United States Navy Band. Written by Alton Adams, the first black bandmaster in the US Navy. This version for brass quartet was arranged by Chief Musician Stan Curtis. Performed by Musician 1st Class Phil Eberly (euphonium) and Chief Musicians Tony Halloin (tuba), John Schroeder (trumpet) and Stan Curtis (trumpet).

Ambient recording of a yakiniku restaurant in tokyo. I used a stereo pair of microphones mounted on the table next to the grill at 120 degree angles. There is a fair amount of noise from the grill itself, but if the volume is reduced for use as a background noise, the grill sounds becomes negligible. You can hear the background music, the waiters and kitchen staff and some diners/utensils. Near the end an order is placed in japanese.

A simple guitar gesture played on a blueridge br-63 with old strings, recorded with a zoom h4n about 8 inches away from and pointed at the sound hole, reduced to mono with audacity. A gregorian chant melody line with arpeggiated harmony played from digital keyboard into a music maker midi recording. I gave it a whirl with a vst synthesizer voice called men's cathedral, twirled lots of dials and this came out.
